Addison, TX – Certification and training classes continue at Jani-King’s corporate headquarters in Addison, TX. This time, 24 people including regional directors and operations personnel attended the latest healthcare training and certification course held in April. The intense, five-day class prepared those who participated to return to their regions with the knowledge and tools necessary to train others.
During each day, the group participated in 8-hours of classroom study and also 5-hours of hands-on learning at a local hospital. In total, the group was required to complete a total of 65 hours of intense training in order to be certified through Jani-King’s healthcare program. The topics covered included an overview of the business of healthcare cleaning such as what services Jani-King provides to a hospital, expectation of service, infection control, cleaning and disinfecting of a patient room and operating room, floor care and more.
The group also listened to Chris Schoup, President of Methodist Surgical Hospital, speak about customer service, a CEO’s expectations of a clean hospital and how critical the housekeeping department is to patient safety and infection control.
“We put the group through several long days but it’s absolutely necessary in order to cover all of the topics in detail,” said Mark Regna, Director of Healthcare Services for Jani-King International. “Upon completing the course, each individual will be fully prepared to train others in their region.”
In addition to the knowledge gained, each participant is given a complete package of all training materials to take back to their region. The training materials include DVD’s, Jani-King’s Healthcare Operations Guide, all 3M and Rubbermaid equipment information and a CD with all training PowerPoint slides.
