Jani-King franchisees began providing services to The Jessie Trice Corporate and Community Health Complex (JTCHC) in Miami as of September 1, 2014. The buildings include JTCHC’s newly constructed Corporate Office Complex and Dental Center in addition to four (4) community health centers and a women’s behavioral health center. Jessie Trice Community Health Center, Inc. (JTCHC) is one of Miami-Dade County’s preeminent federally qualified community healthcare centers.
“Acquiring the business was challenging, yet, at the same time, there was a continuous effort to ensure Jani-King’s Healthcare Environmental Services Program be fully vetted prior to implementation as a means to align Jani-King with JTCHC’s mission, vision, and values,” said Bob Carabajal, Director of Healthcare Services at Jani-King.
According to Carabajal, some of the values and requirements Jani –King had to meet in order to get the business included;
- Meeting the Florida Association of Community Health Centers (FACHC) requirements demonstrating an evidenced-based intrinsic financial impact back to JTCHC by a service provider.
- Building a strong community with better care demonstrated by the environmental impact for cleaning healthcare-related facilities through the use of environmentally sound practices as a result of Jani-King’s Green cleaning initiatives.
“JTCHC emphasized ‘Service Excellence’ and required ‘Leadership’ for a comprehensive environmental services program and Jani-King responded,” said Carabajal.
JTCHC owns and operates 16 facilities, including clinics in 20 Miami-Dade County Public Schools that are dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. JTCHC is ranked as one of the best community healthcare organizations and behavioral health programs in the nation since 1999 by the Joint Commission.
“Signing these properties required a tremendous amount of work and commitment on our part,” said Carabajal. “The process began back in December 2013 and an RFP was finally distributed in February of this year. We met their requests for visits to our regional office and other customer locations over the next several months and began cleaning just last month.”
