The importance of being actively involved with the International

Franchise Association continues to grow. As new challenges face the
franchise industry including political and legal issues at both the
local and national level, it is critical that Jani-King representatives
are involved on boards and committees to ensure our voice is heard
and that we have the latest information on which to act.
At the 2015 IFA Convention held in February in Las Vegas,
Jani-King International CEO & President Jerry Crawford, General
Counsel Stephen Hagedorn and Jani-King Franchising Vice
President Ted Looney represented Jani-King and the commercial
cleaning industry’s interests by actively participating in meetings
and taking on leadership roles where applicable.
“We spend valuable time with industry
difference-makers, discussing challenges,
solutions and what must be accomplished
in order for franchise systems to continue
to grow.”

“We are at an exciting growth period but also at a unique point
in franchising,” said Crawford. “Having access to other franchise
leaders and those at the IFA who are fighting for small business
and franchising on Capitol Hill is one of the many advantages of
participating in the IFA convention each year. We spend valuable
time with industry difference-makers, discussing challenges,
solutions and what must be accomplished in order for franchise
systems to continue to grow.”
At this year’s conference, Crawford once again thrived in his role
on the IFA Board of Directors and participated in meetings leading
up to the start of the convention and throughout the week. During
the convention, Crawford also provided an update to the opening
session audience regarding the IFA Educational Foundation.
The IFA Educational Foundation also used this opportunity to
launch its Franchising Gives Back program. Franchising Gives
Back salutes the best, most innovative community leaders and
charitable programs nationwide.
“Franchising Gives Back is a year-long celebration of
community leadership across the U.S. and around the world,”
said John Reynolds, CFE, president of the IFA Educational
Foundation. “Franchise businesses give back in countless ways
each day, bringing people together in service to others and building
strong communities. Franchising Gives Back shines a light on
these exemplary leaders who are giving back and inspiring their
peers to do the same.”
