annual ‘Shootout for Autism’
Springfield, Missouri
– Jani-King of Springfield is a proud supporter of the 10th
annual Shoot Out for Autism this May, 31st. Shoot Out For
Autism is an annual fundraiser hosted by a group known as
“Zach’s Pack”. This sporting clays tournament is held each
spring at Ozark Shooters. Participants enjoy a fun filled day
of shooting, raffles, music, and food. The event has raised
over $120,000 since its inception.
Why Zach’s Pack you may be asking. In 2003
at the age of 2 a young booed named Zachary was diagnosed
with autism. At that time his family found it challenging to
find resources that could offer support. After several years
of therapy, Zachary has overcome many challenges, but
continues to work hard each day to overcome new obstacles.
His struggles, and courage, inspire his family to take an
active role advocating, spreading awareness, and fundraising.
In 2006 they held the first “Shoot Out For Autism”. Their
intent is to inspire other outdoorsman and shooting sports
enthusiasts to join the cause. The goal is that Zachary, and
all individuals affected by autism, to have opportunities
that will enrich their lives and make their futures bright.
With support from the community Zach’s Pack can help
individuals and families affected by autism and other
developmental disabilities.
Each year Zach’s Pack chooses where to
allocate the funds they raise. This year they announced the
proceeds will be split between Autism Speaks and Nova Centre
of the Ozarks. Both organizations support the autism
community in beneficial ways.
Jani-King of Springfield is excited to help
the cause in any way they can, including joining the shootout
this Sunday.
