Jani-King of Las Vegas is
proud to announce its latest contract with Lexus of Las Vegas for
daily cleaning in order to assist the dealership in earning their
Platinum LEED certified status.
The Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System,
developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, provides a suite of
standards for environmentally sustainable construction. LEED
creates healthier work and living environments, contributes to
higher productivity and improved employee health and comfort. The
USGBC has also compiled a long list of benefits of implementing a
LEED strategy which ranges from improving air and water quality
to reducing solid waste.
According to Jamie Alberti, Regional
Director for Jani-King of Las Vegas, the company is working
closely with LEED members and the Lexus dealership to insure
maximum points are earned for the cleaning practices provided.
‘We are using certified Green chemicals, training on chemical
handling and providing mandated equipment and an operations
manual,’ said Alberti. ‘We are also documenting equipment
maintenance, communication and a floor care and entry cleaning
program, as well as implementing a Jani-King inspection and
reporting system to provide a detail description of how all Green
clean operations will be accomplished.’
A major component in
this account is to accurately and continuously document all
chemicals, equipment, methods and maintenance. In support of
this, Jani-King of Las Vegas will review this program twice (2)
per year and adjust as needed in response to the changing needs
of the building and its occupants.
To start-up the account and to
develop the Green procedures which include the use of microfiber
mops and cloths, Mark Regna, Director of Healthcare Services and
a point person in Jani-King’s Green program, and Nathan
Zimring, Director of Training, contributed their knowledge and
expertise.
