After months of assessment and a 1,000 page bid, Jani-King of Tampa Bay is proud to announce an agreement with Hillsborough County to outsource its entire cleaning services for all county buildings, totaling nearly two million square feet, to Jani-King. The four year contract with Hillsborough County constitutes the largest recurring regional account in the history of Jani-King.
Jani-King of Tampa Bay will utilize 17 teams of owner-operators throughout the area to clean 61 buildings including the county courthouse and judicial center. The largest of Hillsborough’s campuses to be cleaned is a cluster of county buildings totaling almost 450,000 square feet. Jani-King will provide full-service cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, restroom service, and exterior window cleaning at designated facilities. “Jani-King provided the best solution of all the other companies,” said Doug Dennis, Director of Facilities for Hillsborough County. “Traditionally, we award the business to the lowest priced service provider, however, we’ve been unsatisfied with the quality of work being provided. We were looking for a business partner that could deliver quality service at a reasonable price.”
“Our business is cleaning,” says David Shahan, Regional Director of Jani-King of Tampa Bay. “We dedicate our resources to hiring and training, operations and management, administration and marketing, all resulting in quality service.”
The county contract was also a catalyst in getting Have Broom Will Travel to purchase a Jani-King franchise and bring over their government accounts. Have Broom Will Travel has been a local competitor and friend to Jani-King of Tampa Bay for the past 16 years. “They wanted to bid on the county contract but couldn’t afford the bonding and insurance that came along with it, so they finally bought a Jani-King franchise and brought over their business,” said Shahan.
In addition to the increase in monthly revenue from the county contract, Jani-King of Tampa Bay also added another large account when a Tampa Bay franchise owner inked a deal with a local construction company.
