Stadium Cleaning, Germs, and Keeping an Eye on the Ball

Think about any sporting event and the first thing that comes to mind is the great snacks: hotdogs, popcorn, and soft drinks. Whatever event you attend, you have one thing in common with everyone in the stadium—germs. Germs caused by spilt sodas, half-eaten burgers and hotdogs, sneezes, coughs, and the occasional case of the sickness, perhaps happening right there in the stadium seat where you’re sitting. This is where a good stadium cleaning services comes into play.

After the Game

Cleaning up a stadium after a game is a challenging yet rewarding job. A lot of soda cups, popcorn boxes, candy wrappers and the rest wind up on the floor. So, the first step in stadium cleaning after a big game is picking up all the trash left by the spectators. With a leaf blower, blow the debris into pile. Use a broom to reach nooks and crannies and hard to reach areas. Once the trash is rounded up, sweep it up and place it in trash bags. Words to the wise—don’t forget to wear disposal gloves.

Using a disinfecting solution, power wash the seats, walkways, tunnels, concourse and concessions areas, and then rinse with clean water. Sweep away any puddles to avoid obvious hazards, and then let the areas dry.

Germs 101

The quarterback isn’t the only one taking hits during the game. When it comes to stadium cleaning, pity the poor bathroom. Enthusiastic fans aren’t always the most careful about placing paper towels in waste bins, so public bathrooms can be tricky. They can make or break a commercial business.

After a game, bathrooms need a major league stadium cleaning. Spray down all surfaces such as toilets, sinks, doors, door handles and soap dispensers with disinfectant. Allow to set for at least seven minutes to kill the germs, then rinse and wipe dry. Finally, sweep the floor and mop with a strong disinfectant. Clean and shine windows and mirrors with an industrial window and mirror cleaner, or a homemade vinegar solution. Squeegee or wipe dry with lint-free cloths.
