innovation, productivity, and increased profitability.
The ISSA Convention featured five co-located events, 700-plus
global suppliers, and 16,000 industry leaders from 78 countries.

regions were Dominick Solito, Director of Operations (Eastern),
and Ross Champagne, Director of Operations (Western). They both
had a ton of new and exciting information to share upon returning
from the event.
“The seminar on Infection Control Prevention discussed how
cleaning infected areas starts with proper PPE (Personal
Protective Equipment. They also stressed the importance of
selecting the proper chemicals for the type of infection to
assist in prevention of employees transmitting the germs from all
touch points,” said Solito. Champagne went on to share, “Another
easy means of prevention discussed was the washing of hands and
how many recent studies have shown that people should be washing
their hands even more than usual.”
Green Cleaning was another hot topic discussed throughout the
week. “The seminar on Green Cleaning had a greater focus on
performance with energy, water, waste, transportation, and
occupant satisfaction. The products used need to be safe for
occupants and environment,” said Solito.
Another key recommendation for effective Green Cleaning was to
use equipment that only uses water or is battery-operated – which
has a great impact on the environment.
Many equipment manufacturers shared some of their latest,
next-level cleaning technology with all of the event patrons.
“Nilfisk Advance were
excited to demonstrate two pieces of
equipment that are efficient and can highly increase
profitabilty. The SC750 is a machine that can strip or scrub
vinyl floors without using floor stripper. The SC351 is great for
cleaning and drying small area floors in one pass, eliminating
floors staying wet and mopped with dirty water,” shared
Champagne.
Other equipment manufacturers, such as ProTeam, Fas-Trak, Bonnit
Brush, KaiVac, and Phoenix demonstrated efficient equipment we
feel offer our franchise owners the ability to meet and exceed
client expectations, while increasing profitability. We will be
conducting more research and negotiating with these companies to
hopefully offer them to you in 2015.
