Jani-King International, the world’s largest commercial cleaning franchise company, is proud to recognize Ted Looney, International Development Advisor for Jani-King International, for achieving status as a Certified Franchise Executive by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives.  To achieve this prestigious certification, Looney completed a comprehensive course of study in franchise management offered by the institute, which is the academic branch of the International Franchise Associations Educational Foundation.

There are two main components to earning certification; core credits and elective credits.  To become a CFE, the individual must complete 1,600 hours of core credits that include management, human resources, finance, legal, and  marketing to name a few.  Within the elective courses, 1,000 hours of coursework must be completed.

‘This is the industry that I have chosen for my career, so I want to get all the bells and whistles that I can to help me do the best job,’ said Looney.  ‘The top leaders, executives, attorneys and consultants of the franchise industry developed the coursework including Jani-King’s president Jerry Crawford.  This is the best information available and I would recommend that anyone who wants to further their career in the franchise industry take advantage of it.’

More than 1,100 candidates are currently enrolled or have received certification and more than 300 IFA-member companies currently have one or more executives enrolled in the program that provides benefits such as specialized knowledge, industry recognition, peer-level networking and professional standing.  The program is designed to enhance the franchising professionals’ understanding of both the industry’s fundamental and complex aspects.
